Escape the city and explore the tranquil setting of Dalgarven Mill, or take a walk along its river side. These historic buildings date back to the late 1800s and have been lovingly restored. The grain mill houses the site’s museum, where you can still see the water wheel in action. Wander the three storeys of granaries and learn about the work and lives of those who worked there, as well as the local community farmers and other tradespeople involved in the life of the mill. A programme of exhibitions run throughout the year, many of which focus on fashion and quilting. A highlight of the attraction is the prized costume collection - the largest in Scotland, with over 3000 pieces, dating back as far as the 18th century. There’s also opportunity to dine and shop, in Millers Coffee Room and Saks and Hart Country Period Living.
